Yadkin Riverkeeper Seeks Executive Director

As Yadkin Riverkeeper continues to grow its programs that protect the Yadkin River, improve its educational work and enhance its outreach and advocacy efforts, the organization has made some improvements to operate more effectively.

Brian Fannon has stepped in as Acting Riverkeeper, fulfilling all of our water monitoring and testing efforts and leading our education outreach programs. Brian has been with the organization for two years and has done a magnificent job of translating scientific jargon into practical information that people can use every day to protect our drinking water.

Terri Pratt, who has been with the organization since its inception, moves to a more concerted development and fundraising role that is vital for the growth of our programs that have more than tripled in the past two years. We have added Katie Wilder as our Campaign and Events Coordinator; and Lara Carpenter to manage the finances.

We now seek an Executive Director to lead the organization. The optimal candidate would be an authentic, self-aware and experienced team and organizational leader who relentlessly learns from their board and staff. The new YRK ED will be someone who has ability to set goals and a future vision, is focused on long-term results and inspires others in order to drive staff, board and volunteer productivity within the context of the organizational mission. Our ED will possess the ability to establish a strong community presence, both within the physical region (the basin), and the larger realm of conservation policy, environmental education and activism. The ED will be exceptional in their willingness to raise funds for organizational sustainability and will offer a compelling purpose to our members and partners that is optimistic, motivational and measurable. A passion for the environment, strong communications skills, scientific literacy, and organizational management experience are required.

A cover letter highlighting experience that would enhance our organization and a full resume can be submitted for consideration to jobs@yadkinriverkeeper.org no later than July 1, 2018.
