Yadkin Riverkeeper is proud to announce that Layne Meredith has stepped into the full-time role of Director of Development.
Layne has been involved with Yadkin Riverkeeper since 2016, beginning as a volunteer advocating for stronger regulations around concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). Her early commitment to clean water and community advocacy grew into a deeper partnership, and since 2020 she has led fundraising efforts as Development Consultant. In her new role, Layne will oversee all development strategy, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events, and major donor engagement, with a focus on strengthening relationships and growing sustainable support for the organization’s mission.
With a background in the nonprofit sector dating back to 2015, Layne has held roles in marketing, development, and donor engagement. She also owns and operates a successful event planning business specializing in fundraising events for nonprofits. She brings a thoughtful balance of strategy and creativity to her work, building meaningful connections between donors and the impact of protecting clean water across the Yadkin River Basin.
Outside of work, Layne enjoys going on adventures with her husband and their two young sons, whether that means time outdoors or exploring somewhere new together. She is a proud serial crafter and is always working on a hands-on project. Recently, she has been focused on learning how to become more self-sustaining in everyday life, from growing food to making practical, homemade goods.
